It’s Groundhog Day; that special time of year when Bill Murray emerges from his burrow after winter hibernation. Rumour has it that if Mr. Murray doesn’t see his shadow, he will venture forth from his den and make another movie with Wes Anderson!

It is Groundhog Day, and it seems the meteorological marmots have decided that North America must suffer under the weight of six more weeks of cold and snow. When will we rise up and remove these rodent racketeers? The warmth and happiness of a continent should not be contingent on the whims of a woodchuck.

Of course, in Calgary, winter lasts eight months – regardless of what the groundhog says. Which means we have a lot of time left to curl up on the couch and watch that Harold Ramis classic, over and over and over and over…
